Price Remains the Same, Value Shrinks
Despite these noticeable reductions in features, the price of Valorant skin bundles has remained largely unchanged. Bundles like Kuroonami and Sovereign 2.0, which were packed with features, are still priced similarly to newer bundles like XEROFANG and this Singularity 2.0 — but the difference in content is stark.
The consistent pricing combined with fewer features is the core reason why players feel they are getting less value for their money.
What Players Are Noticing Now
Over time, players have noticed that the quality and quantity of features in Valorant skins have declined, while the pricing has stayed the same. Here’s what’s different:
- Fewer Custom Animations and VFX: Some of the newer bundles have scaled back on the custom animations and effects. Early bundles, such as the Elderflame or Reaver skins, came with extensive VFX, custom animations, and unique sound effects. More recent bundles seem to be lacking these intricate details.
- Simplified Models: In the past, Valorant skins introduced dramatic redesigns to weapon models. Now, many players feel that the newer skins are simply retextures of existing models with fewer standout features.
- Lack of Finishers and Kill Banners: Some skin sets don’t come with a finisher or custom kill banners, a popular feature that was a staple in earlier bundles. This can make newer bundles feel incomplete compared to previous ones.
- Reduced Variety in Color Variants: Earlier skin bundles would often offer four or more chromas to provide players with various color options. Recently, Riot has cut down on the number of variants, leaving players with fewer choices for customization.
